Heading to the studio...

Jane Alderdice is a watercolour painter and weaver, working summers in her Meadowbrook Studio on beautiful Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. You will find her working from her home studio in Guelph, Ontario the rest of the year. In addition to weaving one-of-a-kind clothing, scarves, bags and throws, she creates two and three-dimensional artworks using textiles, Japanese papers and mixed media. She also is a watercolour painter. She offers workshops in drawing, watercolour, tapestry and weaving. Jane participates in the annual Celtic Colours Fibre Festival, and holds regular shows and sales in her studio.

Jane was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec, and grew up on the south shore of Montreal. She graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1985, specializing in textile design. After completing two years of study at the University of Toronto, she returned to further studies at the Ontario College of Art and Design University (Toronto), graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Design degree. She holds a Certificate in Leadership from the Rotman School of Management and a Diploma in Mediation from the University of Toronto.
